1-1-11

The Sybs are back from Comedy Sports and we have decided to await the New Year with STAR TREK! 'Cause we LOVE that movie.  Well BoyKid and I do, Rinny has never seen it!  Anyway, we figured something futuristic was a good choice for ringing in 2011.

So earlier today we went to the BYU Museum of Art to see the Carl Bloch exhibit.  It was AMAZING.  But then so was the James Tissot stuff! Oh my gosh!  Those details with WATERCOLORS?! It was all amazing.  And of course as it was primarily about the savior it was inspiring and gave me a better understanding of his life, truly.  But the art itself for arts sake was just awesome, too.  We saw the rest of the museum there too. I loved it. I haven't been there since high school. I miss art.

Anyway, if you get a chance SEE THOSE EXHIBITS! OH MY GOSH!  HIGHLY recommended IMHO.

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

It is now actually 2011.and I am finishing this entry and sharing some pics.  We greeted the New Year old school with pots and pans and spoons and yelling.

It was VERY cold!

Then TheIrish (our most awesome neighbors) set off pirates and ran around the circle.

It was good times. :) Then it was just TOO cold so we went inside and finished Star Trek.

Happy-ish New Years

It is New Year's Eve and I am still debating whether to go to Comedy Sportz with the sybs or not.  I feel SO sick.  I am throwing up and generally feeling miserable.  Though my critters are making me feel better.  I've got Fable out in the play tent and she is running around spazzing and jumping.  She is crazy!  I love her. <3

I am also taking pictures of  Jack and Sally Clementine on the Piano (because they just look cool on the keys!).  They are such amazing animals.  Clementine is sweet and shy.  Jack is full of himself and a jerk.  But I do so love them both.

I also decided I needed a more Steampunkish computer.  If I was talented I would make something like THIS:

But as I am not I went to SkinIt. And did this:

Okay.  I'm not going.  I feel terrible.  BoyKid and Rinny are going now.  Mom and Padre are headed to a party.  I will be ringing in 2011 with my animals.

Happy Holidays

This past couple months have been some wild holidays. In Vegas with the family we went to The Lion King, saw my darling tigers and dolphins at the Secret Garden (the 5 "cubs" are now SO much bigger but still just big kitties to me, but now 2 new little twin white cubs just charming the socks off the masses), etc.  Christmas was fun as home, and then New Year's we all went to respective friend parties and I saw SO many awesome friends there!

First of all, VEGAS. BOOM! Pictures abound.

It was a very fun trip.

Christmas was just... good. It was good to chill with the fam.  And, yes, doing all kinds of things to remember the birth of the Savior. We went to Temple Square to see the nativity out in the reflection pond and the lights, we read The Living Christ as a family as well as the account in the Bible.  We also watched The Nativity. If you haven't got a copy, you can for free from Mormon.org. Okay, PSA over. ;)

NYE I really wanted to go play but was afraid I would feel too crappy. BUT I had a rare MILD headache, so I went.  It was so much fun. I felt almost normal, and I haven't been out of the dang HOUSE to see people in ages so it was pretty awesome.  Llama and his awesome wife and family held the party.  I rang in 2010 with Bobbie and her Hubby, the Bucksomes, The CFEs, Heather and Dirt, and others.  We played Trivial Pursuit, had a Mexican Food Potluck (I brought dollar menu stuff from Del Taco.  That's about as close to cooking as I get. Hee hee!), and just chilled, talked, laughed at kids, and blew paper horns.

Here is hoping 2010 beats the h*** out of 2009. GOOD GORDON.

the Late Great Wait for 08

A year for changes... a year for quizzes.

1. Will you be looking for a new job?

probably. A SECOND job, anyway.

2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?
Maybe? Who knows.

3. New house?
Not unless something catastrophic happens, no.

4. Do you plan on having a child?
No, I need to have sex first.

5. New Years Resolution?

I WASN'T going to do resolutions, but I SHOULD. So, once again I go to my favorite goal-making scripture Luke 2:52 (My favorite goal-ACCOMPLISHING scripture is Philippians 4:13). Talking about the way the Savior improved himself as a young man it says only "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and favour with God and man."

So those are my categories to improve in... Wisdom (Intellectual), Stature (Physical), Favor with God (Spiritual), and Favor with Man (Social). I will not put a lot, or it will just make it seem impossible. But a few in each and then I can add more through out the year.

Wisdom:
1. Always bee reading something. Have a book with me so if I get bored I don't waste time.
2. Sell more stuff on eBay for money.

Stature:
1. Join some sort of CLASS to lose weight. Either Weight Watchers or the class at my physical therapy pool.
2. Do ALL Therapy "homework" from Dr. Apparently
3. Find a good Internist and figure out what the hell is REALLY wrong with me.

Favor with God:
1. Never miss church for dumb reasons
2. Read SOME scripture every night.
3. Find SOME way to share the gospel weekly, even if it just means posting something good in the Forums or Guilds at Gaia.
4. Pray a lot more. I seriously need it.

Favor with Man:
1. Make a much better effort to stay connected to my friends. I have a tendency to withdraw and not talk to people I don't see everyday, not answer emails, etc. I want to change that.
2. Flirt better.
3. If anyone asks, I WILL go out at least once (unless, you know, I think it's a really bad idea... like if I feel like it may be scary (As in DANGEROUS NOT because I have ANXIETY)or I definitely know I don't like the person.)
4. Make my life and home a happier way/place to be by getting back into FlyLady and gaining control of my LIFE!

6. What will you not be doing in 08?
Ummm... getting married? Lots of stuff.

7. Any trips planned?

not so far, but I do not plan that far in advance.

8. Wedding plans?
I plan to go to the fewest of them I CAN, I guess?

9. Major thing on your calendar?
all the holidays?

10. What can't you wait for?
a few books being released... Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke and Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyers. Oh heck yes.

11. What would you like to see happen different
Less freaking medical mysteries, thank you very much!

12. What about yourself, will you be changing?
My health... especially my weight, My hair... probably dying it red again, and my outlook in life hopefully with the help of Dr. Apparently

13. What happened in ‘07 that you don't think will ever happen again?
Having a boyfriend, maybe. I don't know.

14. Will you be nicer to the people you care about?
I hope so... stay in touch with them better and such.

15. Will you dress differently in 08 than you did in 07?
probably not. Jeans and T-Shirts are pretty standard.

16. Will you quit drinking?
I SHOULD drink MORE! Water that is. I don't drink alcohol anyway. hee hee!

17. Will you better your relationships with your family?
I hope so, I think therapy probably helps with that, eh?

18. Will you do charity work?
Yes, I would like to.

19. Will you be nice to people you dont know?
I'll try.

20. Do you expect 08 to be a good year for you?
I really really hope so!

21. How much did you change from this time last year til now?
a lot in not so awesome ways. I think I am a more depressed and bitter person. I hope to change that.

22. What will you do different in 08?
Question 5, people. QUESTION 5!

23. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?

I sure hope so. I have lost some people in my life, but those I have now are FREAKING AWESOME FRIENDS!!!

24. Major lifestyle changes?
be more careful with my diabetes, swim even more often, walk when I can instead of driving.

25. Moving?
hope not, no.

26. What will you make sure doesn’t happen in 08 that happened in 07?
going to the hospital so dang much, getting my heart broken, etc.

27. What were your New Years Eve plans?
Played at the padres', ate some food, played Catch Phrase with Uncle Doug, ditzy Auntie O (example: Answer was Chicago Cubs. Her clue: "This is a sports team... and I think they are in Denver" NO, they are in, umm, CHICAGO. And it was girls verses boys... so yay she was on OUR TEAM. HA!), cousins Brett, Annie, Kyle, and Vicky, and Boo (the cousin's kid... not the Gerbil).
Counted down, etc.

And there you have it. Bring on 2008. Here's hoping it is WAY better than this last bit of 07.

Oh 6 Oh 7 Akimbo

New Year's Eve day started bad, but still ended pretty good considering!

Fresno was supposed to be here.
He was supposed to go to church with me.
Then we were supposed to go to my friends' party.
And at 12 o'clock we were supposed to kiss... and I have never kissed anyone at New Year's before.

Instead, Fresno is stranded at his friends' in Reno (His best friends, J & Y) with the Flu!
I have been having a terrible headache day and didn't even make it to church myself, though I did watch the very good fireside that was on TV (and Little House on the Prairie... and THEY went to church... so that should count for something).
I stayed home and went to no parties at all.
And certainly did not get kissed.

However, just a few minutes before 2007 here in Utah, Fresno called me (and before he put himself into another good Theraflu coma) just to count down with me! Then we talked for a little over an hour (even though he sure sounded stuffed up and sick) and laughed and made things feel just a bunch better regardless of it all.

He can always make me laugh. We talk about the dumbest things. Hee hee hee! But the thing is, he is also just so... real... and honest. Like I can hardly believe he likes me... and then he says so and I have no choice but to believe him. It's just bizarre. I am still trying to understand it. But I do so like him... muchly. SIGH!

Anyway, I am sort of glad he stayed at J&Y's because he didn't really have work OFF besides the actual HOLIDAY and he was planning to drive all night and that made me awfully nervous. So maybe the flu kept him alive. I love that he wants to come see me and even that he gets so stubborn about doing so... but I worry about him putting his health or safety in danger for it. I just wish he'd fly or something... or that it was June.

Because he IS planning to move here in June.

Crazy.

What WILL 2007 bring?

Hopefully more health, a job, etc. But yeah. I should also do some resolutions. But as one of them is sure to be "GO TO BED EARLIER!!!" I will do that later. Good night... errr... MORNING... and Happy New Year and welcome to 2007.

7th... Hell?

TV movies confuse me!!!

I mean, they feature people who are on famous shows, just YOUNGER. And it is hard for me to not see them AS their current TV characters. Why am I watching this? I don't know. Because the oven isn't hot enough for my fish and tater tots, I guess.

But yeah, the basic story is this. Felicity (big hair and all) is babysitting for Reverend Camden who's wife has been murdered and Clare Huxtable, Bill Cosby's wife, she's investigating it. Now Rev. Camden is having some sort of affair with Felicity, but I think Cosby Show Mom is onto him... and I think he is the murderer.

How sad... a prea
cher and everything.

Yeah, gonna turn this off. It hurts my brain.

ANYWAY, Steph and I were talking about how weird it is, well how different things can be from one year to the next. Last year if you'd have guessed about what would happen in a year... I can sure tell you that nothing could have convinced me that I might have this sweet cute boy trying to make 15 hour drives every other month just to see me. I feel blessed and lucky and in awe and twitterpated and... yeah, just all gushy and girly. Of course, I also didn't know I wouldn't have a job... or that I'd have doctor's
appointments everyday...

but it makes me wonder what... good AND bad... 2007 is going to bring. *crosses fingers and wishes for a million dollars*

This evening we had a random family thing because my dad likes to do that sort of thing. It was funny seeing the cousins and the little cousins (cousins' kiddlets), especially Brett and Annie's little boys. They are adorable and there are 3 of them... all cookie cutters of the next, all 3 under 4. And Annie is preggy, but guess what? This time with their first GIRL!!! Still I think Annie is crazy for having them that close, but then I am a little afraid of babies and stuff. But she is excited for a girl... and no wonder... in the 3 hours they were at our house Boy 1 chased people with pool cue "swords," Boy 2 ran into a table and got a black eye, and later tried to pee standing up like Boy 1 and only reached half-way up the toilet. Luckily darling baby Boy 3 just grinned a scary monster grin all time except when a Santa hat was brought out because apparently meeting Santa the day before did NOT go well and so when the hat was produced Boy 2 AND Boy 3 both bawled just at the HAT.

My Most Gossipy Aunty O. asked "where is your friend? We sure enjoyed meeting him the other day." (They were at the BYU vs. U of U Game Party.) I told her he was back in Fresno and then ducked out of the room ASAP. When he comes to BoyKid's Farewell things are going to be BUZZING!

O Tanning-Balm O Tanning-Balm...

Today (as in Saturday... I know, technically, it is Sunday now) was actually pretty good! The weather was PRETTY and I decided that tomorrow (technically today) I will put up Christmas lights on the outside not just on our Charlie Brown Tree. No, WORSE than a Charlie Brown Tree because at least that one had an excuse. At least it was REAL. mine is FAKE and 24 inches tall... but it is MY TREE DAMN IT ALL!!! And I WILL have a tree no matter my situation. That is why I bought it a few years ago. It is pathetic. But it is PERMANENT. Also, with us not being AROUND this Christmas, I may not get a real tree but I will have just a fraction of that tradition here at my own little "Ark."

Our Tree at home has the weirdest ornaments. There are these hideous 70's ones from when my parents were first married, a gingerbread clay "Christmas Frog" that BoyKid made in kindergarten that looks like (I am not exaggerating) a pile of dog poop with a paper clip in the top, fancy ornaments friends have given us as gifts, Popsicles stick frames around pictures I made in 2nd grade... our tree is NOT the prettiest, but I love it and it means Christmas to me more than anything else because it means memories and family.

My little wannabe tree only has about 25 ornaments total, but it is the same sort of thing. There are 3 or 4 people gave me on the mission, a couple I have made, a few cheap ones I bought with roommates ate various apartments. It's not quite the same, but it's colorful and fun and it makes me happy to sit and stare at it. I even put my 4 or 5 Christmas books under it. (At home before there were gifts, there were the
books. Any Christmas books were out and under the tree so we could climb under there and read one. I loved that and it totally works with my view of books (And I am so putting up that SinFest Comic, later Steph, but NOT on this post.))

Anyway, I just got a little Nostalgic there. Hee hee hee hee!

SO, the other reason today was good was I went to ShaBang's Waffle, Christmas Stories, and Pajama Party. Okay, so that is what I called it when I told Fresno about it and he was teasing me. "So what are you going to do? Are you allowed to do anything NOT in the title?"

Later I asked him about his Work Christmas party. He called it his "Walk Around Talking to People Normal and Wearing Normal Clothes Drinking Punch Party."

Punk.

I *SO* Like Him.

He wants to see me NEW YEARS. Hello, he JUST saw me Thanksgiving, but yeah, he wants to make ANOTHER trip and well, if he is okay with it, *I* sure am... SIGH! Actually we may play in Vegas. I know, Sin City... but we promise not to Sin... or City. I am so loopy. Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee!

ANYWAY, sorry I am easily distracted.

The party was fun. People
brought kids which always makes things funnier. We told Christmas stories and it was just funny because most people told them out of picture books, with us all sitting around in a circle on the floor in jammies... and yet they ONLY ones actually sitting and listening to the stories are us supposed grown ups and the kids are all over the place but NONE of them are anywhere near the stories. hee hee hee! (By the way, I have heard Wings That Work before and this just renewed the fact I need to own that book!) However, eventually my head told me to go home. Not my BRAIN, I mean my actual head which did it's hurting dizzying thing hard core. Still, I am glad I went. It was good to see so many awesome friends from LinkUp. (Pssst... a few (though not all) are listed to your LEFT there with Blogs of their OWN! (btw, if you HAVE a blog and read me there is a good chance I either DO or SHOULD BE reading YOURS, so if you aren't listed at left, let me know. Because, you know, I need people to know my equally interesting friends have equally interesting blogs!)

So after I left and went home I remembered I was going to find something for someone, but couldn't in the dark and then a cop was following me and although I assure you I was doing nothing nefarious it DID look really suspicious so I decided I better go home for real and turned onto other brighter streets till the cop decided I probably was going home and went home. Actually I went all the way HOME-Home, to my Padres. That got me thinking about the Tree. And there ya go. But now I will take more meds and pass out awhile and hopefully have better dreams than last night because last night I had nightmares.

The End and to all a Good Night!
