Things-TO-Day

Today I was active: Walked Mrs. Drhasacrazywife's new dog they rescued from the shelter for her. She is a beautiful little girl, a lab mix with a healing hip.  She had been hit by a car.  Mrs. Drhasacrazywife said she was "wild" and unmanageable and in "an extended puppy-hood," but really she was just as sweet and obedient as can be.  Mom volunteered us to walk her.  And so I did.

Today I was also creative: Rinny and I made a Castle Cake! We took the basic idea from here. And did our best, but it is our first cake basically. hee hee!  Anyway, pictures to come later!

Movies, Westminster, and My Back Attack

So, I saw 4 movies this holiday weekend. Well, part of 1 of them.  Good Night, and Good Luck I turned off because it was SOOOOOOOOOO BORING.

The Jane Austen Book Club - NOT what I expected. For some reason I expected it to be funny.  Or reflect more Austen.  It wasn't.  It was mildly depressing, but mostly just sort of dumb and, again boring.

Sherlock Holmes - LOVED it. Action, fun, mystery. Lots of humor, even a little steampunk mixed in!

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging - being a huge fan of the books I could see it going either way, but no, it was cute and fun!

So those are my thoughts.  In case you were wondering, this is such a movie weekend because I hurt my back really bad doing sit-ups in the pool.  It is just killing me.  I am now sitting against an ice pack, taking muscle relaxers, and watching a DOG SHOW. hee hee hee.  Dog show people are funny.  *sigh*  I want a dog. :(

Married Boy[s that are my best]friends

I don't remember ALL birthdays. I am awful with numbers. But when they coincide with a holiday, it helps.  Parker was born on Lincoln's Birthday.  Lil' Jeppson was born on Boxing Day.  So a couple days ago I texted "Before I forget! Happy Birthday, Parker!" NOT expecting much response as he is not much of a texter and is busy being, you know married and a dad and stuff.  But he called me last night!

"HOW did you remember my birthday?!"
" You were born on Lincoln's Birthday.  Lil' Jeppson was born on Boxing Day."
So we chat awhile. Most of it, same hilarious randomosity as always. When he was talking about rubbing his wife's back to help her sleep, a little awkward.
WHY?!

I have plenty of friends who are married, most of them, even.  Boys too, though I guess the difference is I am friends with both the wife and hubby.  I LIKE Risa, I mean we know each other but not well at all.  I just like her because she is cool with Parker staying friends with the Fringe.  And she seems nice.
But I guess just that difference makes it awkward.  Because it's not, like, a romantic interest or anything (which would make it MORE than awkward) as Parker is like my little brother... LITERALLY.  He is freaking awesome and has the same 1st name, and Jeppers and Parker were our Mission brothers. And we really WERE their SISTERS. hee hee!

But still... Lock-heart Love that kid to bits.

Aspen and the Rainbow Bridge.

Thing-a-Day: made a little page for the Worm stuff I am doing for 6th Grade Outreach feild trips at work... amd for selling Hissers.  http://critters2go.homestead.com/buy.html  I know this may freak you out but I have people WAITING  for this newest batch of hissing cockroaches to get to be "teens" and the right size for feeding to critters like Sugar Gliders.

Speaking of sugar gliders, mine are barking at me right now.  They are so funny.  Heber pops his head up randomly from the pouch around my neck just to see if I am doing something that SHOULD involve him, then goes back in when he sees I have no treats or feathers to play with.  Today the first glider my sugar glider "mentor," my friend who first welcomed me into the sugar glider community and answered my questions, ever had, passed away.  She was 13 years old.  My girls are about 7, Heber is a couple years older.  So she was an elderly glider, and certainly had a great life with Amy.  But I mourn with Amy, who has been such a good friend to me, and say goodbye to Aspen.  I believe in life after death... and I do not believe our Heavenly Father would be much of a God worth worshiping if He didn't include our dear animals in that.  I believe Amy will see Aspen again.  But I still can't imagine her hurt.  If it were Lilo, Nani, or Heber and I... I would fall to pieces.  Rest in Peace, little Aspen.

T-a-D for the Short Bus Set

Remember that whole Thing-a-Day thing I was talking about before?  Steph is doing it?  Well, I was thinking about it some more because I thought it was such a good thing to keep ME motivated and DOING things.  Only it really is meant to be CREATING things.  Which is usually what I do anyway... at work, or with Critters 2 Go, or whatever. "Make" things.

But sometimes doing ANY thing in a day, creative or no, is an accomplishment.  Between Depression and Fibromyalgia and Gastroparesis sometimes it is hard to squeeze in a THING at ALL.

Today I am proud that I:

* Went to the pool, and exercised at least a little

*Took my mom to the Sunflower Market

*Picked my clothes up off the ground.

*kept living.

The Shows Must Go On... even at 29, Rinny. Happy Birthday.

Last night was Rinny's birthday and so we went to a show at Desert Star.  It was Twi-Lite a spoof on, obviously, Twilight. HILARIOUS!
The day before though, we went to a performance my sis Rinny was IN.  It was called Why We Tell the Story a scholarship benefit in honor of Sid Riggs, who died a few years ago.  A lot of the Drama folks over the years that I have known (mostly through Rinny or else I went to High School with) were in it.  I went with my padres, BoyKid, and my friend Pepper.  It was fun seeing so many people from high school.  Like Bethany said "like a high school reunion I actually enjoy!"  But it is bizarre to think they are tearing it all down.

www.sodangofficialifeelsoprofessionalnow.com

SO the TaD thing I did today, check it out I got REAL DOMAIN NAMES!  granted there is nothing much THERE yet, but the addresses, yeah, I OWN them. Booyah! steamedcabbages.com AND critters2goparties.com are both mine, al mine! BWAHAHA!

Steamed Cabbages is just my little doll decorating venture and I am on my own on that so it looks about as cool as it is going to minus the pics of the dolls because, well, the dolls themselves are not done.  But Critters 2 Go I have a PRO/best friend Steph helping me on so whenever she gets time it is going to look freaking awesome.  Until then, my site is still just www.critters2go.homestead.com made by amateur me.

I also cut one of the dolls' hair (I think she will be an Engineer type) and decided on the riding clothes for The Gentleman.

And took a nap with Cali the Cat.

So, yeah, productive-ish day. :)

p.s. I think I have a crush on a Nigerian guy in Spain. <3

TAD Feb 4 Thurs. and Chicks, Man.

So, I am not really an official Thing-a-Day person like Steph.  Because 1. you have to sign up for that. 2. then I would really have to do it EVERY day. BUT I was thinking it really is a cool goal to try to CREATE something every single day.

But today I made 2 baseball cards.

Featuring DUCK! and CHICKEN! for the 5th grade lesson plan and I was highly entertained, even if they will think we are dumb. Also, found an amazing set of pics to use.  Have YOU ever seen how chicks grow in the egg?  LOOKIE!

And just for kicks and giggles, guys, here is hatching.

BoyKid the Murse?

Little bro,. BoyKid is in the other room talking to Padre who is once again pressuring him into Nursing. I just don't think he should. I don't see him being a nurse. I mean he is NICE. super nice... but so scatterbrained. I would be scared if he were MY nurse.  Maybe more of a pat old people's hands type.  I don't know.  He is SUPER smart... just... yeah. Who knows.

Sister, Rinny's birthday is coming up and we are going to see a show.  We Just saw Urinetown at UVU. OH MY GOSH. HILARIOUS.  Like probably one of the best productions of oine of the best shows ever. Laughed a freaking ton.  I loved it.  Anyway, we will go see something because, well, Rinny is Drama Girl and we are a Drama Fam.

I can't believe how OLD we all are.

I am almost 31. THIRTY ONE.
