Voting!

I avoid talking politics because, well, my friends and I sure do not always agree. And that's okay! But I thought the quiz on Ashdown's blog to tell you who you should support was pretty interesting. So, I am posting it. Don't hurt me.

"Kill what You are Inside You"

I don't have any for sure cures, but for a change, I HAVE HOPE!

First of all, my stupid side pain. Well, I was getting injections, but they really stopped working. So, even though he isn't covered by my crappy insurance, we decided to go back to Dr. YeahBaby, who helped my head so much. And Dr. YeahBaby had a NEW idea, one that DIDN'T involve sugar-raising steroids. We are going to try to give my nerve FROSTBITE and KILL IT! REALLY! Use a "Cryo"-probe and maybe it will kill it for forever, or maybe it will grow back, but either way, IF they can get the nerve... yeah. HOPE.

Also, 2 pills that haven't been helping have been taken OUT of my massive daily collection... and 2 have been added. Because when I was at the Neurologist's yesterday we talked about what Dr. Apparently said about Fibromyalgia. Well, after asking some questions and doing those mean touch you all over to see if it hurts test (umm, yes, YES it does), she determined that in her opinion I DEFINITELY have Fibromyalgia. So, now I am taking Cymbalta and Lyrica. Maybe this will be a really good thing. Those are what Dr. Apparently wants me on anyway, Celexa sure isn't cutting it. So we shall see.

So, while everything is still rather an experiment, this could be good. I hope I hope I hope.

Other than that, I have been really frustrated with my dumb dumb dumb Depression. And doctors EVERY SINGLE DAY this week. I am cheering myself up by watching every past episode of Cute with Chris. I freaking LOVE that show (but, a warning, it is definitely at least PG-13, so expect swearing. And a plastic horse named Pervy. Not for everyone.)

An example... of the more G to PG variety:

hee hee hee!

ANYWAY, in other news...

*I finally wrote an article for Thai's brilliant website The Hip Homemaker. You should check out her, like, WHOLE site if you are homemaker-ish.

*I haven't got to play with LeslieKay yet, but we did add each other on Facebook.

*Our sweet Deafie baby boy Jordan has been fixed and adopted. I would just like to say that the Utah Animal Adoption Center that took over Wasatch Humane is a GOOD place. Though, I admit part of me wishes he could be MINE. I am a bad foster mom... I really just want to keep EVERYTHING. hee hee!

*I hate being a girl. A lot. BLEH. *I'm gonna take a bath and go to bed. Okay that's not exactly news. Whatever. Hee hee! Goodnight, Homies.

Inactives Can't be Choosers...

but I still wish someone had told me what the new meeting time was.

I know it's a new year but it didn't occur to me that this ward might change (unlike other singles' wards I've been in lately) until I went to church today and saw way too many cars in the lot... and FAMILIES walking in the hall. Yup. Checked at the library and they said "my" ward now met 5 hours earlier.

I HAVE been thinking about going with my fam to their ward. The past while, when I have been up to sitting through church I have often needed a RIDE anyway... thus going with my family to their church. May as well make it official.

I just wish someone had told me.

Instead I went to some random ward that was in my chapel at the same time I usually go. It was fine... I'm just... having a hard time. In a multitude of ways.

"It's like you escaped from a Hallmark card or something"

Today has been both a very bad and very good day! I will start with the good. It's more fun, and more infrequent, so I gotta take advantage of it. When I was on my mission in Texas there was this AWESOME girl named LeslieKay.

She was, like, super member missionary. She had a CRAZY life. She had been homeless, basically raised her little brother and herself in a shelter, and was a recovering Meth addict. But she was AMAZING about the gospel... and she slept over at our apartment (we got permission from our President, don't worry) to go on exchanges with us. And the thing is I felt like she really was, like, a FRIEND, you know? Like not just a person that helped the missionaries, but a friend, too. And that was rare.

Anyway, this awesome ex-druggie went on a mission herself after I went home and I was SO proud! Well, we lost touch and I always wondered what became of her... did she stay strong? Was she okay? TODAY I found OUT! SHE EMAILED ME! SHE LIVES IN PROVO!!!!! PROVO!

So we can get together and PLAY! Play with LeslieKay!

That was a really fun thing for today. Also fun today, I went with Rinny to HER Movie. No, not sucky Single's 2nd Ward that she's IN... I mean the movie that basically IS her life.
ENCHANTED. Hee hee hee! And you know what? It was cute and pretty dang FUNNY! Especially with the pigeons, rats, and cockroaches cleaning the house. (Which is why when I start breeding Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches for feeders and pets my breeder couple WILL be named Giselle and Prince Edward!) That killed me. Bravo, Disney! HA! Pretty good stuff. Made me giggle repeatedly. And I will see it again.

The bad stuff has just been general suckiness. I am tired to death of hurting all the time. Right now they are thinking the stomach/side thing is "
Abdominal Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment Syndrome" commonly called ACNES. Hee hee hee! Yeah. Pretty stupid name for it if you ask me. And my psych, Dr. Apparently, thinks I have Fibromyalgia or something making the pain FROM these random things more acute, but who knows.

I had to go BACK to THE VR WITCH this week. They want a full "psychological evaluation" on me now and a bunch of other rather nervous-making stuff. I cried a lot. I'm not excited. A big Psych test AND some other tests. I HATE tests. Except, you know, THESE kind. Hee hee!

the Late Great Wait for 08

A year for changes... a year for quizzes.

1. Will you be looking for a new job?

probably. A SECOND job, anyway.

2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?
Maybe? Who knows.

3. New house?
Not unless something catastrophic happens, no.

4. Do you plan on having a child?
No, I need to have sex first.

5. New Years Resolution?

I WASN'T going to do resolutions, but I SHOULD. So, once again I go to my favorite goal-making scripture Luke 2:52 (My favorite goal-ACCOMPLISHING scripture is Philippians 4:13). Talking about the way the Savior improved himself as a young man it says only "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and favour with God and man."

So those are my categories to improve in... Wisdom (Intellectual), Stature (Physical), Favor with God (Spiritual), and Favor with Man (Social). I will not put a lot, or it will just make it seem impossible. But a few in each and then I can add more through out the year.

Wisdom:
1. Always bee reading something. Have a book with me so if I get bored I don't waste time.
2. Sell more stuff on eBay for money.

Stature:
1. Join some sort of CLASS to lose weight. Either Weight Watchers or the class at my physical therapy pool.
2. Do ALL Therapy "homework" from Dr. Apparently
3. Find a good Internist and figure out what the hell is REALLY wrong with me.

Favor with God:
1. Never miss church for dumb reasons
2. Read SOME scripture every night.
3. Find SOME way to share the gospel weekly, even if it just means posting something good in the Forums or Guilds at Gaia.
4. Pray a lot more. I seriously need it.

Favor with Man:
1. Make a much better effort to stay connected to my friends. I have a tendency to withdraw and not talk to people I don't see everyday, not answer emails, etc. I want to change that.
2. Flirt better.
3. If anyone asks, I WILL go out at least once (unless, you know, I think it's a really bad idea... like if I feel like it may be scary (As in DANGEROUS NOT because I have ANXIETY)or I definitely know I don't like the person.)
4. Make my life and home a happier way/place to be by getting back into FlyLady and gaining control of my LIFE!

6. What will you not be doing in 08?
Ummm... getting married? Lots of stuff.

7. Any trips planned?

not so far, but I do not plan that far in advance.

8. Wedding plans?
I plan to go to the fewest of them I CAN, I guess?

9. Major thing on your calendar?
all the holidays?

10. What can't you wait for?
a few books being released... Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke and Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyers. Oh heck yes.

11. What would you like to see happen different
Less freaking medical mysteries, thank you very much!

12. What about yourself, will you be changing?
My health... especially my weight, My hair... probably dying it red again, and my outlook in life hopefully with the help of Dr. Apparently

13. What happened in ‘07 that you don't think will ever happen again?
Having a boyfriend, maybe. I don't know.

14. Will you be nicer to the people you care about?
I hope so... stay in touch with them better and such.

15. Will you dress differently in 08 than you did in 07?
probably not. Jeans and T-Shirts are pretty standard.

16. Will you quit drinking?
I SHOULD drink MORE! Water that is. I don't drink alcohol anyway. hee hee!

17. Will you better your relationships with your family?
I hope so, I think therapy probably helps with that, eh?

18. Will you do charity work?
Yes, I would like to.

19. Will you be nice to people you dont know?
I'll try.

20. Do you expect 08 to be a good year for you?
I really really hope so!

21. How much did you change from this time last year til now?
a lot in not so awesome ways. I think I am a more depressed and bitter person. I hope to change that.

22. What will you do different in 08?
Question 5, people. QUESTION 5!

23. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?

I sure hope so. I have lost some people in my life, but those I have now are FREAKING AWESOME FRIENDS!!!

24. Major lifestyle changes?
be more careful with my diabetes, swim even more often, walk when I can instead of driving.

25. Moving?
hope not, no.

26. What will you make sure doesn’t happen in 08 that happened in 07?
going to the hospital so dang much, getting my heart broken, etc.

27. What were your New Years Eve plans?
Played at the padres', ate some food, played Catch Phrase with Uncle Doug, ditzy Auntie O (example: Answer was Chicago Cubs. Her clue: "This is a sports team... and I think they are in Denver" NO, they are in, umm, CHICAGO. And it was girls verses boys... so yay she was on OUR TEAM. HA!), cousins Brett, Annie, Kyle, and Vicky, and Boo (the cousin's kid... not the Gerbil).
Counted down, etc.

And there you have it. Bring on 2008. Here's hoping it is WAY better than this last bit of 07.

Amy, Connie, and Jordan... when it rains it pours.

Wow. Okay, so I have been more than a little busy trying to help out some people... and critters. You better watch out. Bad things happen to my friends. You remember my friend, Amy and her hubby Dave? Well, MORE tragedy has struck my Indiana glider friends. My friend Cee's house BURNED DOWN! CHRISTMAS EVE! She and her hubby got out with all her gliders (they jumped into their pouches when she yelled, thank goodness!) and her grown daughter with kids who were living with them were away for the holidays, so everyone got out safe... but the house TOTALED. Anyway, I don't have much of the family stuff they need (they are living in a motel with the gliders in rubbermaid bins!), but I JUST won a raffle (to benefit Amy and Dave! HA!) and I am going to pick out a few things MY suggies need and send the rest to Cee! GOOD TIMING, huh?!

Anyway, if you could keep Connie Small (Cee's real name) and family and Amy and Dave in your prayers, okay?

And then there is thefurrier, but closer-to-home problem. So, you may remember that the Roomie and I do rescue/rehab/rehoming for various animals. We have had the feral cat, various wild birds, etc. But mostly, even though we HAVE 2 dogs, we foster dogs about to be euthanized and try to place them after getting them healthy.

A while ago we had Suzie, who had been badly abused including being set on FIRE. She is doing very well in her new home in Illinois with an older lady who understands were need for a slow, gentle life.

Then we had Tootsie. She was a malnourished and abused Weimaraner. After vet visits and a lot of prayers and adjustments she still did not make it and died.

Well, now we have a little border collie pup who I am calling Jordan... after I. King Jordan, first deaf president of Gallaudet. Because, yup, Jordan is completely deaf. Very smart, though. He is only 7 weeks old and already he has got down the fetching and bring it BACK, AND he is doing very well with the signs POTTY and STOP. He is just darling. We are looking to place him with a rescue group that especially handles Deafies.

I WISH I COULD KEEP HIM. I have fallen SO in love.
