Remedial Citizenship?

The 4th of July here in America. Okay, fine, so it's 4th of July everywhere... except, ya know, for time zones. Independence Day. There. Hee hee!

This week we have all been deep in the week long Robotics camp which SOUNDS fun but is in fact... okay, a little fun, but mostly hellishly frustrating. Plus, THIS camp and location is not goat friendly and I know it sounds pathetic, I MISSED my Josie Girl!!! Seriously! My mom tended her and when I came home she would trot up all cute bleating all happy and I scooped her up. I love that little kid. So just being done with THAT is very good. And today I played with her all day... including being semi-invited to a family picnic.

Okay, so the FAM was invited to a thing with the Aunty O crew, but we were gonna be there over 2 different bottle times. So I told Mom I would just stay home... but she called and asked if it would be okay if Josie came and they said "Uhh... that should be fine..." Not exactly an enthusiastic invitation for my baby (understandably so... really, I know. I mean, "hi, can we bring a goat to your party?" But she is my baby right now...) BUT they were super nice... and I am pretty sure her cuteness... especially letting the kiddlet cousins feed her bottles (all the parents took pictures), and seeing her run with the kids alongside the Slip-n-Slide and playing with them all (it's fun for her to be with little folks closer to her own size. hee hee) ... won EVERYONE over!

She is pretty dang adorable after all.

Then some of the cousins and kiddlets left because they were off to Stadium of Fire to see the Fireworks and the little girls were in a frenzy over getting to see miss Hannah Montana herself. (I would like to see Blue Man Group, but the last time I actually went to Stadium of Fire it was All 4 One. hee hee! Yeah, it's been awhile.)

Anyway, we had a pretty good time and everyone is getting so old! I remember when Brett and Annie lived with us in our house in Provo when they first got married... now they have, like, 5 kids. Very cute ones, too. And Alisha, who actually lived in GRANDMA'S basement (even though they are the other side of the fam) when she was, like, 2 was there with her fiancé! I can't BELIEVE they are old enough. ('specially they both look, like, 14.) It was weird to realize how big the little ones are getting. Wacky.

Then we went home to watch the Padres' "Neighborhood of Fire"... or rather we WENT and then Josie and I took off because I was done with family and my head hurt and I was not feeling all that cool right then. And Josie should be in bed. So here I am, HEARING fireworks, blogging, and feeling my little goat asleep on my foot.

OH, and in honor of our countries birthday, it's a dang good thing I was BORN here. Because for kicks and giggles I took a citizenship quiz.
"You answered 45% of questions correctly. Here's your rating:

45-60%: Not too bad, but you really need to break out the civics books again -- word is, the INS is looking for an 80 percent score."

Happy Birthday, America. Sorry for sucking! hee hee hee!

Random thoughts all weekend

I want the hot to GO AWAY NOW. Come on, seriously. It is WINDY out there, but it is, like HOT wind even.

Still, at least I'm not with Fresno. He's had a VERY bad week and has been really bummed at work... and the temperature at his house today was ONE HUNDRED AND NINE DEGREES. Actually, although I pretended to pitty him the most and made a big deal out of how bad I feel for him, I REALLY wanted to cry for his DOGS. The poor fuzzbutts are OUTSIDE in FUR COATS!!! I mean, yes, they have the garage as a dog house and they always have water and he leaves on a mister for them in the yard, but STILL those ginormous puppies don't have AC after all.

The poor babies. They need to be house-trained, groomed, and become, at least sometimes, inside dogs in my opinion. But that's just my opinion and unless we end up together (me and Fresno) and those babies end up half mine, I am going to just keep those to myself. Poor things. It must be so miserable for them.

ACTUALLY, what they need is too move to a COOLER state... preferably one where gliders are legal, too? Just to make things simpler. Hee hee hee!

So in case you couldn't guess, I have just spent the last 2 hours being a giggly girl on the phone with Fresno. We haven't talked for more than 5 minutes here and there for days so it was good. Not that wae always talk happy or easy. There is a fair amount of silly flirty stuff. But there is also hard stuff. We talk about me and my medical stuff. (And Stewie, your letter, btw). Because, well, he asks about it... like... details. Which are fairly awkward even when described vaguely, you know? However, we also talked a TON about Transformers (how much he loved it, how much I think I WILL love it) and the dogs. SIGH. I just *so* like him.
You Would Do Most Things For Love

You are willing to go pretty far for love - but not far enough to compromise your core values.
Love is a priority for you, and you'll go further than most people to hold on to someone you love.
But killing for love? Or even taking a bullet? Probably out of the question.
No matter what, you love yourself the most!

What People Think of Your Mouth

People see you as both demanding and irresistible.
You are often the center of attention - and that's how you like it.
You are up for anything and very energetic. People sometimes propose wild ideas to you.
And who knows? Maybe you'll take them up on it. You are known to be a little freaky!

It is later now. I am happier to say it seems like it MAY even storm after all! I hope so! I would LOVE some rain to cool things down. (Though not lightning. This state has had more than our share of wildfires this summer already. All the poor little kiddlets at camp with asthma are having a terrible time with the smoky air.) PLEEEEEEEEASE rain!

I want cool, clean rain. And pancakes. Not together.

I just ALSO happen to want pancakes.
You Are a Pegasus

You are a perfectionist, with an eye for beauty.
You know how to live a good life - and you rarely deviate from your good taste.
While you aren't outgoing, you have excellent social skills.
People both admire you - and feel very comfortable around you.

You Are Mud Pie

You're the perfect combo of flavor and depth
Those who like you give into their impulses

Guess what, though? Tomorrow I am headed up north for my Uncle Bob and Aunt Maralyn speaking in church to welcome them home from an LDS mission in Romania. This is their SECOND mission. Years ago, Uncle Bob was the mission president of Lithuania. But yeah, this time they have been in Romania.

It is my dad's side. Some of Padre's family is awesome. Most are NUTS. (same goes for Mom's side. But oddly, they seem crazy in for different reasons.)

Все счастливые семьи похожи друг на друга, каждая несчастливая семья несчастлива по-своему

(Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.)

-Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina

But, no matter what, it will be FUNNY. Family things are AAARGH. Hilarious.
Your Family Is 63% Dysfunctional

Your family definitely has some major problems, and they're still effecting you today.
It's time for you to step back, reassess, and decide what kind of role your family should have in your life.
The people around you can be toxic, and there's no reason to let your family bring you down.
Consider getting some therapy or talking the situation over with a good friend. And spend more time around people who truly care for you!

I will write more about that, well AFTER! Because for now I should go to BED!

"That is not a photo. That is a sharpie marker drawing on a piece of photo paper... that IS a very good likeness, though."

Dang but it is hot. I am still not convinced my swamp cooler really works... not just because Padre is my Landie and is the one that fixed it, either. It just DOES not seem to be doing the trick. I am melting!

Today was bad at work. I need to remember I do NOT want to do birthday parties! UGH. SUCKY SUCKY day, work-wise.

I am still up and down with the relationship thing.

Fresno and I are... iffily... dating again. I don't know how this is going to go. On the one hand that whole thing forced me to think hard about things... on the other it made me discuss my, umm, SEX DRIVE with FRESNO (TALK ABOUT EMBARRASSING!) and then with my MOM (HOLY HELL.) and probably later with my DOCTORS.

Because, okay, here is the thing. I suppose there IS more to it than just "not having practice" like I thought... after talking. And that kind of weirds me out. A LOT.

But... I don't know.

Part of me doesn't care because, for the moment anyway, I have Fresno BACK. And I so like that boy! I do not want to lose him... I don't know if I am delaying the inevitable... but for now... SIGH. Confused, mixed up, happy, scared... BLERGH.

NOW IT'S SUNDAY...

On a completely frivolous note I have watched 2 movies this weekend, and, shockingly both TOTALLY entertained me!

First of all I FINALLY saw X-Men - The Last Stand! Took me long enough, I know! But I liked it. I expected to... I liked the other 2, after all. But still Yay! I am a nerd and it was good comic bookness!

But the other I saw I sure didn't know if it would suck. It was the Mockumentary about Mormon movies, The Work & the Story which *I* thought was pretty hilarious. But, apparently I may be in the minority. It cracked me up... especially the nod to the Coen brothers at the end. Hee hee hee!

Anyway, now I gotta get to church.

"Computer, is there another Berilium Sphere on board?"

I am pretty sure it is 4 million degrees in this house right now. I DON'T KNOW WHY. And you really can't get any more naked than nude without removing SKIN. I know how that sounds. But no, I am not, nor have I ever been, on Meth. Though I am not 100% sure part of this is not due to the new meds. I don't know. But right now I feel like I may burn up or become dehydrated from sweating so much... I really CAN'T drink enough water either. That, I am sure, IS mostly pills.

And now guzzling water like that, I think, has made me sick to my stomach.

This is NOT a good night.

HOWEVER, I finally found a link to singing , though not Lyrics, for Suck by Chump (it gets better as it goes on ). Aww, our little home-grown Utah Hip-Hop Rappers. Meeeeeemories!

Honestly, how did I survive before the internet to feed my Give-Me-My-Answers-This-Instant! demands? Fresno laughs at me because we will be talking on the phone in the car and a question will come up and I will be almost enraged at having to wait till I get HOME to look it up online and find the answer instantaneously. I am an Info-Addict.

I need, like, a Star Trek/Galaxy Quest car. "Computer, what are the lyrics to..." etc. Or, you know, Kitt... (I do so adore Threadless.)

And now I need to shut up and go to sleep. SIGH.

Automagically Nourished?

There is CHRISTMAS music on TV right now. Christmas! In August! I know it's just a rerun, but I still think it's a little cruel! I am standing right by our cooler because it seems to do NOTHING for the rest of the dang house. It is hot and yucky... and have visions of sugar plumbs dancing in my head. Except that they are not so much sugar plumbs (which I am GUESSING are, like, gumdrops?) as they are snow and kids and presents and snow and Christmas trees and snow and not hot weather and snow...

I am sick and tired of being Hot. And Hungry. And Sick. And Tired. This whole blood sugar thing is dang annoying. And I have NO motivation and TONS to do today. I feel like I have to be eating all the time with this dumb meal plan and yet, I am always hungry. I don't like even thinking about food that much. Like if I could just take a pill instead, I would. Eating is annoying when you have to do a bunch of homework to do so. AAARGH...

Stupid food.

But I DO have a buttload of plans for being healthier. I joined FitDay and even decided it was worth it to get the PC version that cost. That and a massive pile of diabetes materials from class... I HAVE PLANS. Bringing them to fruition is another story. But what should I eat right NOW? Preferably something that appears like magic in front of me so I don't have to cook it. Okay... GO! (oddly, nothing has appeared.)

Dang it all!

I guess I will be back in a moment since I will need to prepare some food after all. My telekinetic powers must be on the fritz. ;O) hee hee!

So once the frozen semi-low carb tortillas thaw a bit so I can get one OFF the stack, I am going to attempt a breakfast burrito type thing with egg and fake sausage. And some raw cucumber (NOT in the wrap).

Yeah. ATTEMPT. Sometimes even I am astounded at my lack of cooking skills. Watching a mindless movie on TV right now, I *think* it's "The Crew." About gangster-types that are now old men losing their apartment that get mixed back into stuff. It is mildly entertaining. I am just too BLEH to actually accomplish anything today. I NEED to make BML for my sugar gliders today, but I will probably end up cleaning cages after church tomorrow. But I AM going to go to church. I am needing to get myself RIGHT. Do what I need to, follow the Lord, all of that. I need that. I probably need it more than even this health stuff... what is the point of feeling better and but not being a better person?
